Speaking about faith at work. The session that produces the most talk about suffering and mental health.
Same topic, three different evenings, three different rooms.
| Run | When | Venue | Min | Voices | Film | Film % | Intro→Disc | Facil. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cohort 1 | — | startup hub | 88 | 9 | standard | 26% | 0.71 → 1.75 | 31% |
| Cohort 2 | 2025-09-10 | convention centre used by City Harvest Church | 127 | 23 | standard | 20% | 1 → 3.15 | 31% |
| Cohort 3 | 2026-06-10 | other (Christian ministry/worship space) | 108 | 13 | substitute | 20% | 0.57 → 1.61 | 34% |
This session reaches the deepest discussion averages in the corpus. Leave time; do not cut the last question.
Cohort 1. Met in a startup hub for 88 minutes with 9 voices in the room. The standard film was shown, taking 26% of the evening. 5 questions were put. Coded depth rose from 0.71 in the introduction round to 1.75 in the discussion. The facilitator took 31% of the turns.
Cohort 2 · 2025-09-10. Met in a convention centre used by City Harvest Church for 127 minutes with 23 voices in the room. The standard film was shown, taking 20% of the evening. 4 questions were put. Coded depth rose from 1 in the introduction round to 3.15 in the discussion. The facilitator took 31% of the turns.
Cohort 3 · 2026-06-10. Met in a other (Christian ministry/worship space) for 108 minutes with 13 voices in the room. A substitute film was shown, taking 20% of the evening. 6 questions were put. Coded depth rose from 0.57 in the introduction round to 1.61 in the discussion. The facilitator took 34% of the turns.
Plan for 9 to 23 people. The sequence is the one feature of the evening with a measurable effect, and it should be run whole.
Ask where God is asking the person to stay in something hard rather than escape it. It opens the suffering material.
FDE promo, Kaestner on leading with a limp, the John and Ashley Marsh profile from Opelika, Alabama.
Cohort 3 substituted 'Not Called to Comfort' with Dave Hataj of Edgerton Gear.
The Hataj film frames the shop itself as the ministry, which is the question the room most wants to answer.
A substitute was used in 1 of the three runs. Across all 24 sessions, substitution made no measurable difference to marker density (1.89 against 1.58, Mann–Whitney p = 0.20). What it changes is the subject matter.
Share of the 75 participant contributions carrying each subject, against its share across all 618 contributions in the corpus.
Frames raised: Mission abroad (11), Expatriate and transnational life (8), The Singapore state system (4), The multi-faith workplace (4), Contrast with a home country (2).
Where the room took a position on that material, it pushed back or negotiated 11 times against 6 endorsements.
Who speaks: 21 contributions from women, 44 from men.
Choose three. No recorded session got through more than about three at any one table, so the rest are a reserve rather than a plan.
All 100 coded turns from the three runs of this session, with their quotation codes, speaker codes and coding. Speakers carry a stable pseudonymous code with sex attached, so the same person can be followed across sessions and citations without being named.
I'm a dragon [boat] Racer oh so I love uh teamwork I love uh yeah I love yeah being competitive not alone but in the team
I started a uh Foundation … we have project in Ne[pal] and Cambodia I want to do in Singapore because Singapore is too rich … I wanted to start a children's home in Nepal and uh as a foreigner I couldn't buy land but I discovered that I could buy land if I buil[t] a hotel
I've been looking for Faith entrepreneur uh kind of chapters … 3 years ago but because they do Zoom I don't like it … I'm currently also joining [CBMC] Christian business man chapters … I'm at the season where … if I'm going to spend 16 hours a day doing my businesses I want to see whether I can use the 16 hours to do something on the marketplace
we also sponsor Church churches I say if churches don't have money and they need to upgrade the lights we can come in and we can discuss and that's what we did
I'm interested in um helping or increasing the survival rates of um patients after trauma … if I were to start a business it would be like one focused on well-being and focused on uh helping people heal after trauma
I ran into this group by accident because I was not believer I didn't know is a faith driven event uh at the beginning but then uh well after a few sessions then uh I became a Believer yes a few months ago … I find transformation Within Myself and I find uh more clear onto my about my business about my career goal and also uh even my life become better in terms of uh my become less anxi[ous]
actually was s[ort] of looking for a community because I've been in the like Entrepreneur Space for only about a year … I met a few like Christian Partners or clients … when I wanted like advice I always would like turn to them cuz it's quite lonely right so I like oh I found this on like [Eventbrite]
I used to work as operations manager in hospital that's around 8 years but I I'm not interested to continue in that field anymore because uh towards uh my calling is [entirely] different from that so uh it's more like um uh towards emotional wellbeing of people and the spiritual deficiencies … how social media is disturbing people's mind
today's topic is Ministry of [Word] uh very touching session … I was touching when I was watching I was crying a little bit so it's about Brokenness about how do we overcome challenges during the business and the failures because it's [un]avoidable in the business
I'm not a Christian and I came back to Singapore about 12 years ago I'm 51 now … I was driving around on Saturday uh finding various churches and then I found … this church because I was tired [of] driv[ing] … so Brokenness um how do I say my family went through a lot of hardship … we lost quite a fair bit of our capital and it just from here it went straight down here to the valley and there was like no hope but when I walk into the church it took me about four years to become a Christian … I'm still finding very hard to surrender to submit to be honest with you I struggle most every other day … I lost almost everything and my dad was dying so I was alone taking care of everyone … I don't feel hungry I don't feel that I lost a lot
in my case the moment when I become official Christian the moment when I start really going to church and the moment when I get saved through three distinct different moments in my life
it's not a specific unique moment that has I I believe for me it's an ongoing uh feeling or ongoing Journey … I'm come from China well um other the China Chinese was very competitive they they they likes to compare with each other … and they rather criticize each other … people like to judge your business … when I seek help from God when I seek answer from God … I did feel the the the confirmation and the determination … we kind of get the ability to judge what are the things that I should listen but what are the things that I should [ignore] … I kind of find the inner peace
I was previously done graduate school like um in the US um it was a really horrifying experience to be honest there was a murder on campus there were sex like sexual predators um also on campus … I think God like deliberately um like moved me out of the US and I'm very thankful to be here … I'm just trying to still digest everything
I uh originally Orthodox Christian that means you born like next two weeks you're going to get baptized they just put you in a water around done uh so I did had some Christian teaching more like on a on a ritual basis from my grandma and from my mom my father was never a Believer … she brought me to church and that's when I started really going to church the Protestant Church in C[ity] Harvest Church here in Singapore … till this actually last year is August … I really really really quarrel with my wife … we talk about divorce … I pray can you release[] me from all those bad spirits and may be sitting in me … I feel like a wind like really like get cold … I W[ent] home feel completely different … I'm generally a technical person I'm trying to get an algorithm it feels like you have to really get really bad really open really repent … since that moment I I clearly clearly know that I got saved
become so much easier to reject really really good deals that we're not that you know um ethical … I look at certain deals I just I just I just don't go for them even that is a very good cash [flow] because I know it's not right I know that if I deviate from from the [path] of doing things uh right how the God wants to do then eventually as it was mentioned in the beginning he'll just take my business wouldn't work he'll take something else wouldn't work … he'll keep fighting for my soul … we cannot take it with us [to the] grave
I was in the corporate career and doing well … constantly pursuing that next level and the next promotion … I was was going to church so I was like yeah I'm following God reading my Bible but … what I've come to see now in hindsight is that I you know what was I really striving for was success and money and power … why do I feel so bad with my life should be so when my life looks so good and you know here in Singapore with my rent paid for by my company and great salary … he essentially just had to chop chop chop … it's a lot more lifegiving but it's a lot more also precarious because you don't have that income … all right I'm here for you what do you want let me do what you want because that is the best path no matter … how it plays out like uh MoneyWise
when I graduated in 1970 Singapore was really a mess … I was 21 years old and I was in charge of the electronics Workshop … there was a time where it was very easy to be successful I I would say that I was born in the right time Singapore was growing very fast … when I was 50 the Lord spoke to me and said look I think it's time you do something with your life you know and they told me to go to Cambodia and I argue [with] him for two weeks I said no no this damn dangerous … if you asked me to go again I would not do it … I don't know how how God has given me the strength and the the peace
I bought a villa which was owned by the minister and I want to convert it into children's home … hey [M074] I forgot to [bill] you … I also forgot to raise the fund how much was it it was 250,000 us … then the next day uh a woman [from] a good foundation … she said what can I do for you … let me let me take care of it … so I always tell people don't worry about money you know if you have the heart to do it … these are people that come to me I did not call them I don't even know them they come and seek me and give me money … I think we we have to be willing to to sacrifice first then God will [provide] it's just like like uh Abraham and Isaac … and God said no I don't need your money don't don't worry I'll give you the money … once can be a coincident but a few more times it happens
I didn't have a lot talk process going through my mind when I was approaching like this this business but … I was like mostly praying … new businesses like projects that are given to me I I don't think I I did anything special to earn it but … all these opportunities are given by God … I was a reading on Romans 12 something about Reliance on God … whether I can accept that God would would make me fail in in this line no matter how much I [want it] … something I have to resolve and come to terms with with myself and with God
the more you believe uh the more you'll start getting investments in Project coming out of nowhere because [for God] it it's just so easy but he definitely don't want to spoil you … I no longer anxious about Runway of the company … if I have 50k in a bank I'm actually pretty sure that next few months God will provide more if I do right decisions … my VCS come to me and say [FACILITATOR] why you still alive … are you getting some Russian money or something or Chinese money or something Shady … one of them actually Muslim so I tell him oh very easy God he's like what God
I didn't have business failure it was it was quite easy for me … the first eight months we made $800,000 profit … but my Foundation is a struggle … everybody asked me [M074] where is your successor … I keep asking God is there anything I've done wrong … there are a lot of crooks Cambodia and Ne[pal] they're all Crooks and really truly even Christian pastors are are really crook so the way I run it is to run it like an entrepreneur … I don't give money I run it myself … that is my failure in the sense that I can't find a successor
I I am a survivor of anxiety Neurosis … I used to have panic attacks per day three or four times … I was feeling that that was the end of my career story … I was uh treking on a Himalaya … those thoughts were not mine actually it was completely Supernatural when I was uh um coming back to my Resort I was completely out of my panic attacks … it was like trauma memory process it just happened … supernaturally … God will not uh use broken pieces … he'll just create into new piece the brand new … I never had any panic attacks
I used to run an organization that's about 4.6 billion EUR … when I came back at 40 … I started my company … every decision I made was wrong very wrong … God don't talk to you right you pray no answer … I pray a lot until today I'm still praying … we can't find any guys in Singapore because of the quota … I use the same formula into my [business] it was totally wrong
on the zoom and I was falling asleep … I saw this pastor his name is [M011] [Chen] … he's from [YWAM] … he was asking for money to build a church and then there was this [knock] on my head … donate … we didn't have a lot of money … let's sponsor the church lighting so we did … we were experiencing every decision that was wrong and then [the door opened] … they all Christian … sometimes it's very scary it is scary for me I'm still feeling [it's] scary so I try to join groups like this so we can share we can help one another
it's very strange that actually I never planned everything. It's actually all is God's plan. I didn't know that I become a host of event because I thought I just like to just become a member just joining for any event right that's what everyone like to do that that's why I become a host they end up when I become a host I I set up invitation to ask people that are they interested to come to church and then I meet up some people are in less than 10 people and one person suddenly say that he's interested the next in case anyone want to want to join go to the church because I had the uh host event uh it's called dinner and talk event where you can meet everyone from all over the world and then he said that he want to join so I let him join that was last month now actually then he came to the church he came for a few times even sometimes I couldn't make it for church service but he can go by themselves now. So remember [M003] who came once and just accidentally his group and he baptized he's a church born now. So sometimes it happen this way that yes if you have no Christian friends just bring them in here and that's a really it's a really good place for them to see that you can run business start.
my [PERSON] [PERSON]. So um I'm in the business of connecting businesses and uh more than business also uh trade. Okay. Um so I my focus is now on Israel and Middle East. Um what brought me here? Actually my very first attending was the fake German entrepreneur conference that is coming up right very soon. Yeah. Right. Uh so I first attended a conference two years in a row before I joined the community and in the first conference I got to hear uh an Israeli uh marketplace person share and also an Arab uh Christian in Israel who shared about the business. So I loved it and it's a global community … with a social enterprise that does intercultural exchange where we run workshops. So our trainers are like people from uh displaced people from Afghanistan etc. uh we also mentor them. So it's not just here but we support um people overseas also to to grow right in their work with the law but also in the marketplace give them the skills. Um so I'm I'm a marketing manager with social enterprise to maybe uh discuss and see what we can collaborate. Fun fact about me. Um myself and Espel we are organizing uh Muro uh sorry we are hosting and collaborating with an Iranian Christian who's an American and he will be in Singapore and so we are like to showcase Iranian Christian who is American and will be in Singapore. Yes. So God is moving. Yeah. God is moving mightily in Iran. It's the fastest growing underground church. uh we have a heart for them. God is moving. We want to be part of what God is doing.
My name is [M017] and uh I found Bamboo Builders. We are social enterprise that runs a lot education training for students and corporates to build empathy practical skill sets and entrepreneurial mindsets with them. Uh currently we are running a national scams education campaign uh supported by Google and Singapore police sports. Uh and so far we've trained about 25,000 people from Singapore and ASEAN. Uh we really hope to become uh g to use gamification to um train people to become more empathetic about social issues around them. Uh how I hope to introduce God into the business. Uh is to also run the same type of programs with rural um schools that lack the kind of support that the kind of public schools that first world countries have. We actually started that uh but then co changed everything.
It's my first time here. Um I am doing a sleep aware business. Um fun fact about me is that um I already started the job like within the year. So I'm still very new to this. Yeah. Very well. Yeah. How you started sleep aware? Are you aware of how you should be very aware about your sleeping so um my sleeping is great. I love to sleep. And I hope that more Singaporeans can sleep.
My name is [F001]. Uh I'm from St. Haras [City Harvest] Church and uh I was a marketing professional in different industries like electronic cosplay electronics and now um I'm navigating my entrepreneurship journey in marketing as well as coaching. Okay, I think I said a few times I'm not I don't know those you may not uh born in Singapore. So uh yeah, so you can connect with me to know where I am from.
I'm [F031]. I'm the founder of the only. So, it's my first time here invited by [FACILITATOR]. Um, so how I order my business to God is uh on the second third year I have this uh some 348 the stickers on my journey box and also on my back to monog and part of my How many you produce? How many you distribute? Tell no tell. It's quite I know marketers. How many impressions did you get? That's very cool. A few thousand already. Yeah, a few thousand stuff. Yeah. Then uh part of posting goes to community services society Singapore uh is uh one of uh our church updated uh charity organization.
hi everybody. [M002]. This is my fourth time here. So, you're already veteran status here. I missed the last month because I was in Sydney for for work. Um, fun fact, I enjoyed coffee and like I also enjoy coffee. \[Music\] I anything specific about I'm currently enjoying brewing coffee. Are you like brewing? Yeah, filter coffee. So you So So you get a coffee machine at home and I I do have an espresso machine, but I also like doing something. That is a machine enjoy the coffee, not you? That's me. Do you know how to do the barista stuff like the pressing and all that? Oh yeah. So I I don't have the fancy ring yet, but I basic I can do that. So if you want nice coffee, talk to [FACILITATOR]. If you want like coffee that you can afford, talk to me. What's your business? Um sorry. Uh I do um so I do two things. Morning I do solutions engineering for the company and then coffee and then and then coffee and then in the evening I I do uh tech consulting. So like solutions architecture AI stuff
Hi everyone. I'm [M012]. I'm a certified coach and I'm a content creator. So as a coach I help people just find their purpose in life and in work. Um the reason why I'm here, what brought me here is unlike most of you guys, I after 7 years of being an entrepreneur, I actually want to transition back to corporate. So this is my way of letting God speak to me if that is in the right position. uh if I should come back or you know I think yeah um this is where we did all of our sexual so yeah so you'll meet like a panel not necessarily I guess I don't know maybe God wants me to be here um I don't know to talk to likeminded people
Okay. I have to say this. Um the reason why I pray it's not because I'm this brave and amazing person. It's actually because I believe that my strength in my hand is is not enough and that where my strength ends is where I want to come. So I don't really trust in my strength and with my dental if that's how I I feel with my dental God doesn't need me in order to heal that tooth. It's actually a key [gift] for me to be able to witness God's healing power through my hands and I and the audience like so close to somebody and I give the injection and I see this every day like people in pain their eyes their shoulders come up and I give some very like injection thing that everyone could just literally literally their eyes like it's it's amazing. I it never like the amazement like oh like their eyes and they just relax and you know they could see that the pain they couldn't have good night's sleep for so [F022]. It's a gift for me um to be part of that journey and obviously I'm I'm entrusted with a lot of um like like a lot of patients trust me so much within 2 minutes you know of your face you know um but but yeah so it's because my strength is I don't trust in the ability factor not just patients and clients but also our employees they trust us so much so we are not bringing word and news about Christ to them. Maybe we are not doing our job because we are put in a very special position as entrepreneurs. Here is 20 of us but actually there are 20 of us here running into 200 maybe in 2000 we got people running like huge organizations here one one idea one change in their heart could change so many people. So yeah, it's it's we maybe uh we're often we are the tools right as you said I like to be changing we are through us and and for example like my company like development project I'm quite aware that God is providing through me uh and my husband to the builders that carry on and the children so it's not connected in that way so instead of moving between me and this is so expensive. It's a big thanks
I'm uh [M060] and I am uh I I uh I I run an IT company that does uh Google workspace and Microsoft 365. So the whole bundle thing and uh especially is focused on the SMB. So you know you see people gmail.com right ugly right I I run a promo for them business owner actually do a email migration for them for my own right is the intention is to help uh owners in Singapore
I've been in Singapore for 10 years. We are uh we love it here. We have become permanent residents here uh for the last few years. Um I'm uh I have a background of working with banks uh standard chart uh I've worked with finance companies and uh gradually uh my career took me to fintex and now I uh you know somehow things have taken a different turn and as an entrepreneur I'm running one more marketing agency digital marketing agency my uh experience as business wasn't great in the marketing companies and somehow you know God has led me to be in this business.
My name is [F011]. I'm the founder of Good Shepherd Collective. So um how Christ is in the in the picture is basically the name of the company. So a lot of believers uh would know right away when I give my name. So in a way my name is also like you know giving testimony. Um yeah God gave me this vision of starting this company on my mission trip in Indonesia. Yeah it's very um I try to always always um pray about position hiring a new client acquisition partnership uh before I go into it uh currently and so before I started my business I actually thought about you know I need to have time and money I want to I want to uh go back into the mission field and I want to bring machines and yeah he's working there so Ryan also financially supported team in Japan um running by the 7 three-year-old who has been in Japan for 40 years uh since she was in her early 30s. Um and her work focuses on homeless uh elderly industries in Japan. And so when I spoke to her on the phone, I remember that she was telling me that for a year the word that got planted in her was shepherd.
Hi everybody. I'm [M009]. uh consider myself a current entrepreneur. I think I'm about to previously I was uh strategic designer for so what I'm doing now is completely different to what I was doing before I would say now I'm developing uh I'm sure that that's not really quite obviously in Spider-Man. Let me ask you guys, how many of you are guys are familiar with like Harry Potter or Marvel Avengers, Spiderman, things like that. So, these are titles um going to major in um so currently originals. Um it's still very stious. Um but I think what took me into this was also like I think God put in this um thought that we would tell good stories about ourselves. tell stories and so this is also a way um trying to tell better stories and yes … um what brought me here is I realized that not everything can happen I was going through I think two years ago I was going through a rough patch was outside for a while and a half four years ago And a little bit back story. I fell away from the faith for authentic and then my moments of holiness like the people of I I just remember struggling and then the church and then the community as well as uh was so … actually in the in the previous videos they were saying that interpreters are see five times more likely to come in that what makes us not stopping when everybody else came up with so that makes me feel better in the right community.
Hi, uh my name is [M015]. Uh I think this is my third time coming to this event. um across different regions um different parts of Singapore. Um my business is actually similar to hers is around sleep. So I think what was a problem that I experienced while traveling um to like a gap year to maybe like 3 to four months of traveling and then I realized that I really lack pain when I was sleeping even in hotels, Airbnbs and so decided to come up with a travel pillow that maybe people can take along wherever they go. So that's my business. I think um what brought me here is um my my friend and I think he's um encouraged me to kind of find a community and so you know found a really great group of individuals that you know have a like mind for Christ create an impact but also we're not just you know from mission field but even what they're passionate about doing. So just promise not bringing pillows here you'll get to it. So you know with social fun fact about myself uh I just came back from uh central Asia and Tajakistan and I really saw a lot of impact around not just the finance you know it was a bank that I was visiting um but seeing how this bank is able to transform many people's lives and so in a form of evangelism um really see how the culture within the bank has you know really transformed the region in a sense so it's really very eye opening transformative
I do content creation for B2B businesses for content like mediums ebooks uh I do copyrighting I don't look at advertising yes that's my business but from me here is very simple my job about myself I'm in Bible school now great thing about being a business owner is you can do Bible school
I'm [M080]. My business is uh content commerce origination for fintech. Uh fun fact about myself. Sorry about tech content origination. … I create some content myself uh I don't really do like video like personal content. people like illustrative and animation content because I feel like most of the like faces are very funny at some point and like it's always like differentiation. Uh so I'm trying to replace myself. So I've been experimenting with uh creating uh auto so I don't have to go any
hi my name is [M005]. So actually I run a few things and my main businesses actually is in tech consulting. So I specialize in developing uh newer tech like AI automations and also web three like VR and blockchains for my clients. Yeah. So my company names is actually called TSI which is called S. So what Sik means actually the right of God in Hebrew. So this is why me and my partner we name our company. So actually how I involve God in my business is I do prayer meeting with my team every Monday and because I'm a person. So actually I pray for each project. So I ask the Holy Spirit what can I do for this client that client that client. So I ask God to show me some insights like when I start at work and I can ask God for some prophetic solutions of how to solve the problem for my clients. Yeah. So that's how I got my business. I think also one of my employee he did witness some miracles like happen in the company. So he just me to pray for him and I I feel like uh because for me I even though I do like my street but I think when it comes to evangelizing to friends or even especially like like colleagues right I feel very shy. Yeah, because I guess especially after four years, so it's like I just want to keep things like you know professional but I still maintain very good like relationship with my team but I manage to see like God moving in my company.
okay so employees are worried about being replaced in the company but founders replacing themselves
bad news is also in vlogs will see that all the wells that they give to you spoils you make you a worse person and dragging you away from being saved then it's really likely you're not going to get it unless you are the pastor someone else also get it so so I'm always thinking about this like I mean okay if you if I'm if I'm not connected anymore if I don't sense the Holy Spirit everything I do it's unlikely to be for very [F022] whatever success I'm achieving right now but every time every time it's it's diminish that I change something very second.
So I used to be a social media influencer back in the day and that was kind of my testimony or whole turning point where God basically confronted me and said, "I want you to choose. Do you want to build your followers or do you want to follow me?" And at that time I had about half a million hits on my blog. So um that was 14 years ago. So really way back in the day and that started my journey actually coming out of the media influencer entertainment scene and I went through a a really deep identity and purpose journey and God started calling me into coaching and training. So my passion and what really drives me is really finding ways to support entrepreneurs in different areas from their inner life to their outer impact because ultimately you are your ceiling and your floor. And it's really I started to realize the most important creative project is actually you. It's not the creative work. We always think it's about that business or that client or that project or that thing, but it's actually you that's the most important thing. And through that journey as well, I think that's what really honors God because actually God really he doesn't care about our work. We're very obsessed with the work, but it's actually us that he cares about and how we partner with him, how we love him and honor him, I think is just through our entire being, not only in the outcome. So, what I'm really passionate about is helping entrepreneurs in various ways like helping them with their strategy. How do they want to launch a business? How they really want to build in a healthy way without losing their soul? you know, how do they build from a place of of identity and purpose rather than from burnout and pressure and performance? And I have my my own ups and downs. So, a lot of it has come from my own journey, my own struggles.
I'm really passionate about kingdom initiatives. A fellow connector [F040] you know so I'd love to just share um we have a very special event coming up called SG500 and we are bringing together people from all around the world who are praying for how God wants to move in 500 cities across Asia. So we're bringing together people from five different areas from intercessors uh to people who are who are passionate about business transformation to city transformation to um Christian investors and also um yeah people who want to see change and renew in media entertainment and in the next generation.
pretty much I'm Australian as you guys can tell. I'm fully English, but I'm learning. I'm slowly getting there. Um uh my business is in um search engine optimization. So we help our clients to get high rank in Google. So many more. There are quite a few in this room. Um and we also help our clients with paid ads. So I've been doing that for about 12 plus years. Started in Australia and that's where it gained momentum and now they've expanded and taken it to Singapore. Um so it's been a lot of fun. I was born here by myself. Interesting story. I actually have a good friend in Norman who is a fellow entrepreneur and he connected me to a friend who then connected me to a cell who then brought me here. So I'm very glad to be here and really fun fact. Um, back in the day, this is many, many years ago at AP. Um, grade two, I was actually a Lego champion. So, yes. Um, I was going down since that was the peak of my achievement.
On the business side, I do uh have uh software business. We develop all uh software for marketers to uh combine through audience research, social listening and competitor analytics in one place to ideate new content and build marketing strategy to agencies and brands to streamline how they build new ads and make it relatable to uh to people not just you know utilize formal tactics. um kind of tricks that market used to use especially in Asia. We we see it we see the redemptive angle uh in it. Um we we call it redemptive marketing. Actually we have an article of course about marketing particularly we think that marketing should be based on values and uh it's about letting somebody who might not know about you know about you use your product and you can do a much more impactful campaigns compared to just you know those tactical stuff that everyone is doing … I have a working school in Singapore. I'm probably the only teacher. We are the only school. We probably have 200 there. All of them ended up uh isolating from us or meeting us somewhere. and it's already over 10 years here.
so now you now we know your last Now it's closer. Last time last time was actually was 3 months in transition time. I got left in less than 2 months. So what are you going to do? Yeah. So actually price in your business. I'm planning because I'm uh like data list actually is no one is talking about what I'm doing is like data intelligence. Ever talking about artificial intelligence because data intelligence is actually is a source for artificial intelligence where you all know that there is no AI can produce 100% accuracy. It's because of garbage in garbage out. So that's where data engineers are coming to make sure that there is 100% accuracy in the data. Yeah. So it's actually that's where I come from is where I'm telling the like the good news about Christ there's a accurate data because now we are living in a world where there is a lot of false prophecies
So I'm S. Um I'm a trained dentist. I'm transitioning out which is doing property business in the UK. So my husband and I set up set up a few businesses accommodation development. So converting some properties into residential. … Actually we pray for our guests as well. Not not only that they find the place but um also like offer them travel plans. So we you know it's not only tourists it's only teachers you know we have caretakers of like the families around the border and stay in our place. So we generally pray over their life and obviously brought them into our care and our healthy and we take care of them for them.
I so I'll combine the first and the second uh very question of personal life and and then work and success and also grace. Um I came to know the Lord. I mean I received uh Jesus into my heart at 15 and it was a very genuine conversion. I mean and I was a youth uh in youth ministry, youth leader, baptized in the Holy Spirit, all that. And then I went to work in um Indonesia at 21 years old. Um so you can be in the church, you can be on fire for God, but God I what what I experienced was he was dealing with the beliefs I have growing up and my heart. So I was really uh willful, rebellious. I wanted to do things my way and uh I there were times I can even hear the Holy Spirit like counsel me, tell me certain things and I said just let me do it my way right I want to I I want to go for this. Um so I was out of church I mean I was in I I attended church here and there now and then in a in a church that is very always preaching the radical grace of God. So I knew I was loved. I knew I loved I mean back then but I I still wanted to do it my way you know so it's it's a oxymoron situation and at the age of 40 I'm 48 now I think lost but at 40 um the Holy Spirit started to ask me questions like so what fruits do you can you show in in your life you know since you want to be so smart ass right to do your way and and it it took me into a journey of uh really contemplating and I and I and I said Lord uh nothing to show nothing of eternal you know uh value to show and and it it it was coming face to face with the truth and I said I need your wisdom at 40 and and so you know so I definitely am recipient of the grace of God in huge amount like his grace always leading me back regardless of what I have done or the choice I've made. Um so that that is one and then at so at that point my my life turned and I I began to seek what is your plan and purposes in my life like as a teenager I heard I have words shared and like and I say He's still valid for me, you know, and my gifts and calling of God is irrevocable. So, so and that brought me on a journey and he bring people into my life to to kind of confirm the things that he spoke in my heart. For example, you want to know the plans and purposes I have for your life? Search for me in the word. So the word of God after not having touched the word for a good 20 years I started to to really seek and you know and I joined a Bible study fellowship started on the book of Romans and it is a book that really transformed my life because it's about the grace of God I'm justifi just justified by his grace so and and I just kept digging digging into the word and then the sense of what success is began to change you know like what is success? What is work? What is success? What is success? Success is um so if you remember uh uh the book of [M020] where he says that meditate on my word day and night right and then be of good courage. So, so it's the inward life, my life, my heart condition first, right? and I already have the identity of his do as his daughter and then it's about living out and then finding um what is on his heart for me and and that took me on a journey um that went into Israel, Syria, displaced people, refugees and and but I had an interest in business. I had uh I was a soloreneur before and I said Lord I will never do business on my own again you know um like like no I if I were to do business I I want to be part of a to have a a team a fellow a partner a co-founder that really shares the heart and the vision so um thank God for the people he's brought across my path and then um the lives that I can um share with impact whether um in the workplace or outside of the workplace. So it it becomes it's not defined by just money uh though it's very important because it's like seed you know that that can be sewn into good good works for the kingdom of god. So um I think that's that's about it. So that has shifted or affected my attitude toward work and success and and um you know the the the sense of not striving but him creating the opportunities like when I was in sales uh like he would just bring people I mean I do what I need to do but people would come out of nowhere and then give me a deal you know like that's like oh where did that come from you know of course it is a lot but um not necessary Christians actually it doesn't have to be and and I think um one thing to stretch okay a little bit of the thinking is it's not it's not always about it is about the preaching the gospel it is about salt and light but at the very highest level like for example if you could be a prime minister or president of the nation right you you do things that is good for all mankind regardless of whether they become a Christian or not immediately and and it's not always saying oh uh uh receive Jesus like like that you might say Jean but it is about about doing demonstrating the the kingdom of God demonstrating the values of of the kingdom the love the righteousness the grace because each human being uh is created
I did see uh quite a bit of this in my business as well personally, right? So when I was um starting my company, I I did raise a lot of EC money and um I think that time generally the industry was about raising a lot and I wouldn't call it fake it till you make it but definitely the unit economics as a business is really working you know was the first priority the first priority was to build something that can to very good traction and by good traction I say and what I mean is uh is something that uh would bring us top of clients and yeah and then what we decided we we decided to go to one of the [M078] markets actually to Russia itself not even to Kazakhstan Pakistan And it was really great because it was Instagram number seven global market. So there was a lot of agencies, brands craving for for uh some solutions, agencies wherever they were coming from Singapore. We were so convenient because we speak Russian Russian origin. So just great foreign company but you know can communicate. Uh and then uh we grew very fast. We raised VC money and everybody was uh uh very very happy with us. Uh but what we didn't have we didn't have I don't know profitability where the uh both of fundamentals that a business should have. So eventually we ended up face the Ukrainian war which killed all of our business one day because we would exit a lot of clients exit late of bankrupt many other companies in Europe as well because there's no Russian market there. So so we were also benefiting from Singapore. So it was a really crush. It was very hard for me to decide what to do with the 50 people in the office speaking only Russian. I didn't know what to do with them. And I can tell you exactly how we solve these things. We didn't fire anyone. We we we I think we did it did well. We did it uh in Christ terms. Well, right. But uh it was just so hard and I was in continuous anxiety like what to do even though I had few million dollars in the bank account the company right so we kind of we would have paid the salaries and sustain and you know we would pretend everything was fine. Uh then only when this stress put us in the situation we had to really figure out how to make business profitable to generate more revenues to change how we hire to change how we make decisions how we talk to clients eventually how to tell the client that client doesn't need you but may need some other business to cover. So deliberately giving first sacrificing first before you know receiving Till then it was just never ending pain and I have to admit without that pain I might I have not turned to to to to do business differently and definitely grew everything cuz in fact I'm living with you guys as well here very much and this group help with me a lot because by hearing all the stories I do understand that I'm not alone and that it is possible to run Christian business not just on paper Christian not just labelled as Christian not just use Christianity as a network but also change the way decisions to oppose it very much believe first by faith you doing what is right what you think is right and then you receive but maybe not and uh yeah as I always say it's very important to understand Sometimes we just want to hear one part of the overall story and maybe somebody else will receive and this is fine. We should be fine with that.
I think before I started my uh when I transited I worked uh in the corporate sector for 19 odd years. So uh yeah. So and my business is just one and a half years old. just uh between that I took a gap over one year courses and uh um I don't know how and why but I landed up doing this uh one to one course this is true course also on um um which is something like if you know personal deliverance but I've been through that before and I was like I'm not sure whether I want to do it and actually it was termed as a course called leadership but it was was now deliverance and delivering you from many things that you have been uh done in the past or you know been through as a child or as a you know adult woman and because of that you know resolved uh you know like when I'm saying like trust issues like you know these builders are out to cheat us these employees you know that we employ in our company they're after cheaters or the clients you know so it just resolves so much uh Um it it just I I thought that I'm dealing with employees. I'm dealing with clients in a very different way than I'm you know dealt with colleagues and clients all my life. So I don't know if I'm able to explain this you know but that's what happened. It just set me up in a very different way to deal as a business leader.
For me personal life and work are directly related. People say you have to you know separate and work at home and again how can you be entrepreneur and separate?
Okay. Sorry I just had a thought. Um yeah I mean pretty and you're sharing were really um interesting. Actually what it made me think about was like you say how personal life is so intertwined with our business right and we we actually can't compartmentalize it and business is life right and life is work and everything is sort of imshed but I think something I'm thinking about which has been quite interesting in my own journey is even though our business is very affected by our personal life but how do I not take things personally you know and not have your identity wrapped up in the outcome or in the work. So for example, you know, if someone says that they don't like your work or right, they they you know, you do something for the client and they throw it back at you, you know. So it's so easy to take a lot of interactions at work personally and it can be very disappointing and I think in the past I used to have a lot of ups and downs with it. But I think there's a level also where I'm learning to separate that my work is not my identity. So I don't take it personally even though business is very much intertwined with personal life.
So yeah, [M002], uh, I'm here in Singapore through an E[P]. So I do have a corporate job, um, sales, uh, technical sales basically. So over the past four years, I've seen four layoffs. And every time my team gets attacked and basically over the past 4 years also, it was just seeing God, okay, I'm scared again. Why am I still here? Um, I'm scared again. Why am I still here? I'm scared again. Why am I still here? Like, Lord, I'm ready to get laid off. Like this past earlier this year, I was just like, "God, if you're going to cut me off this year, I don't know if I get stuck training again. I don't know. There's going to be some change. I just feel it coming." And if I get off this time, like I'm just going to be okay. I think I came to that point with just understanding that like this work is not the end of my life. like losing this reposition even if it has achieved some sense of like success for like in the world's perspective like has changed the way that it saw it as like this was a season where God has used for me my family and we've seen his hand move we've seen him bring us from the Philippines to Singapore and just spent the past four years here and just saw how he brought us to a deeper level of faith, of grace, of community, of knowing him and that was way more of a success for us rather than just okay all the financial gain that we had by being employed through the tech company and like doing the business that we are doing. So that that's number one like how we see God work in through and for our lives and in the business and the work that I do. Second is just knowing that salvation is a gift and it's not meant to stop in us um with us. How okay like there was another day off uh back in June and It was kind of like a salvation thing, right? How I got saved again from being cut off. The month before the layoffs happened, I actually told my boss like, I feel like my season here is ending like with with the role and not knowing that I a change was coming. Like telling your boss that you're ready to get cut off before a layoff happens is a risky, right? Oh, this guy is a firm. This guy is ready to to move and junction anytime. But still then the layoff happens. I have a colleague that is Thai of Indian heritage in a market in Southeast Asia and like those are very few markets for for the business that I'm part of. And then he's get like why is I still here? And I just like … really felt the need of God like coming like you know what like I still have a purpose for you here. And like over that that period now I've prayed for some of my colleagues and just having like this courage infused in me that like hey you have a purpose there you can still witness for God and like that might be the best thing that you can do for this season while you're still there and like I would not have had that opportunity to like do all these that God not kept me where like in this current position. So I think that's kind of the attitude that I've taken on and like how God has spoken in my life as well that like you're saved. These people are in they can hear the good news through you. They can experience God through your prayers and like you can speak life to them in a very uncertain world where they are also afraid because like a lot of things are changing and like AI and all these things and and just the market and goas and everything like they have so much that unsettles them. But like how about how can prayer change their life? How can the God of peace, the prince of peace that they can encounter fool you and also change your life?
So when when when God dropped the word chapter [shepherd] for me, um, I was on a mission trip, we were on a hike and a dog came out of nowhere and just followed me throughout the hike and I was having heart complications at a point and I thought I'm probably not going to make it. Um, and the dog followed me all the way for like 2 three hours and finally the doctors got me right and I just felt that God was actually in my chapter um and I just didn't trust and so when I started the company collective or maybe just to build context was in my 20s early 30s I would say I would often try to overrun God I would try to run ahead of God um thinking that I know better right um pride I guess ego and um just not having a teachable spirit. Somewhere along my my early mid30s, um I guess it was really like I was in like a wilderness um where just the silence and that place was more terrifying than facing obstacles and having the presence of God. And in that in that silence was it was deafening, right? And that silence kind of woke me up because I was like on my knees and and and just hands in the air and just telling God, I cannot I cannot live like this. I cannot live without you. I don't know how to live without you. Um you know, so I it was really just being very very rock bottom in my personal life. Um and and it was it took years probably two two years of intense pruning. I was in you know the two-piece pruning and preparation and God was really preparing me. I had no idea what was to come. I had no idea I wanted to be a founder. I was in corporate for 13 14 years of my life. Um and I thought that was it. And I was happy to go for it. And then uh one day God was so I think it was just the process of God examining my heart. Um you know and and and my prayer was always you know search me and give me a clean heart. Yeah. Because by by nature I think we are not um and it's that intimacy and the secret place that I met God again. Um, and being a fourth generation Christian, I thought it was ridiculous. I met God. What do you mean? Right? And it's really meeting you again that I was like, I finally know you. And that to me is the bigger purpose is to be known by God and to know God. And the joy and the liberation and that knowing that he is such a gyra was more than enough for me, right? And I said, "God, what do you want me to do then?" Um, and of course, I'm summarizing everything, right? It's not a overnight one month thing, but it's really just being in the intimacy with God and knowing his heart as a father, knowing his heart as the provider, and knowing his heart for his children, knowing his heart for people who are lost, people who are broken. And then I said, "Show me what you want to do." So that's the backtory.
life hack. Life hack for you related to this place. I'm going to give a life hack about that. So, anyone in uh CH actually? Yeah, I think it's open. Yeah. So, okay. Not for recording. This place is actually opened uh all the time. Not this but the whole downstairs. And this is very central location. So what I'm doing for the last one months I'm meeting my clients, partners, investors all see I said there is a free co-working space you know in the city center and very quiet can have I can buy coffee for you and then yeah in church of course church but you see so comfortable instead of sitting there in cafe with people blah blah blah and they all really like it but you for that one hour. It's me speaking to them. It's also worship music singing behind to them and uh it's a church everywhere around them and they can experience how how generous God can be to the church to people around. Actually, there's so many things you can do like this and you will never know uh where these people end up being when they will remember all of this, who else they will bring.
what is interesting is that I feel like what truly saved just a year ago um uh in uh what's called Senator Reserve Park and uh this uh and it doesn't mean that I didn't go I haven't church all my life Russians get baptized one day on this side right and I had very clear sign and I was praying and I was going to go to church here and drink okay but one one night I super seriously thought my life with my wife and I just told him I'm too bad so so I went to the park just you know to sit down there and I pray to God say God just bring your Holy Spirit to me and you know I I understand what I'm doing right what what should I do to keep my family and business more as balanced and also the kids because it's just uh it's just so hard and uh usually it take us with maybe a day or two to become good again all three. Yeah. And uh and this time it would be serious, you know, maybe going to be a very [F022] time to recover and all that. And I pray and I pray and I sing some worship songs just just in the park just sitting and praying and pray and then I feel like super cold wind behind me. Uh which is uh already interesting in Singapore to feel cold wind. And then um and then I got a very clear piece in my mind and understanding that okay now it's all settled fine already and no any logic behind it's not that I was thinking sinking thinking thinking and ah okay now I know you don't have a strategy how to do it all no it was just before which was cry and pray and then after which is complete peace everything is fine was more important that I went up to my wife I Uh, I feel like it's safe. Uh, I feel like, you know, she just go home. Okay, come come home. No problem. Everything is great. I don't know how she felt it, but it's like really exactly like it was in the video. You know, if he come to her and say, I felt like I got said \[ \_\_ \] No, actually, I got exactly the same experience. I didn't I didn't watch that video before that that happened, right? There was a time when I was about to start in the there was uh just before the first session or just right after the first session something like this and uh that piece keep follow following me and I think it's it's it's many times when we get saved in different way during our life and different occasions. So here you could uh start uh reading Bible when you're 40 completely changing your what you're doing and all these things uh it's actually never ending work because ultimately we are saved by grace
It's like for example the like Queen Esther the the story of Esther it's not obviously mentioned that God uh God's name but the whole thing the way it all went about uh God's favor so so very important to to me for work and success is the favor of God uh to rest uh heavily upon my life because every every connection business or not. Um the success is when God's uh purposes is accomplished in that that relationship or that connection. So that to me is is success and and work and life.
like you know like Moses when he said to God if you're not in this with me don't don't don't I don't even want to uh like move right. So the presence, his favor is like just knowing that he's in it with me. Um he has my back. Yeah. That that is very good for me. Yeah. It it's not the the position and everything, but when you have it, use it, you know, the influence and all that for for his glory.
I learned to tell my clients when it's end of my journey with them even then I could keep charging them right especially in my business which is I have another agency business right marketing is how we started [F022] story in agency business you usually don't do this usually you invest in the relationship so your clients go forever will stay with you regardless whatever you produce and you're kind of trying to change it upside down and which is how it should be right on a very basic.
when I was younger, I felt a calling that I got to enter like missions or like some something similar to that, but, um, couldn't quite really tell what it was. Um, so full of like energy and custo straight into it. Uh we build school based businesses in rural villages in Vietnam and we're supporting about 50 uh children and teachers uh all funded by the profits from the business. Things are going really well and co came everything crashed. I was like what what is going on? Um to make things worse, I had already left my full-time job and I was um at I severe I couldn't leave the house. So like it was like really … Yeah. So like you know after meeting with God um um things start to move but really slowly. I'm really frustrated. Um know like you know I think all of us like are also really all of us want to like do so much for God but sometimes God just wants our heart and it's not what we do for him but really like our relationship with him. Um then I think there was a moment in time I mean just fast forward also there was a moment in time where like uh church had like call for missions offering and I was like like so little in my bank account. I just felt really uh challenged by God to give. So I struggled so much. Um I was earning I mean I was like doing like freelance jobs here and there but it was really um stressful at that point in time but still after a while I decided to give um I think it was equivalent to like 2 months of my legal salary at that point in time. Um I was so frustrated that God said almost to me don't leave me. Uh and then God said that like um this is the roller coaster like you're right at the top. After this is a downhill journey and it's going to be great. I was like whatever like I don't know. Um then just like like the next month like 2 months after that um you know just now I check we're doing this major project. All right. So Google randomly we never have ever had any interactions with them before but they randomly put my contact and just say chat with people. I like this what is this about? So I asked them and they're like yeah I just want to chat and then in the end they actually um wanted to get us to do this dance education training and uh they took the meeting and just yeah okay yeah we can do it and then they asked me whether like whether we're okay to work with them uh whether like we are busy or not because we don't have to take them up if we don't want to and I look at my calendar empty yes um then say okay this going to be a grant uh we'll send you the form after this um to fill out with the grant amount written there and we'll try to fill out as much as possible for you. I said okay very nice thank you. So the meeting ended and then um … yeah the meeting ended and um he sent a form the phone the form was like2 million US and I was like … That's unexplainable. I just want to testify like back to that question about like how our salvation like God was really for us. He died for us. If he came he's there to pick it up then he will see you through. So all you need is a little bit of
Quick testimony, 30 seconds. A month ago, I walked away from a client, potential client. I felt the Holy Spirit saying no but you know um no to the dealer or not to walk in a way. known to the people. Okay. But of course, human nature, right? And and and we face temptations even in business, especially as founders, especially much. So, always Okay. So, what did you do? Yeah. So, you say yes. Tempted to say yes. Um but yeah, it was it was only one type of saying yes. Yeah. No. Okay. No. So, so I guess um It was something that I wrestled with for a while, right? And God again brought me to the place where he said, "If you say you're going to follow me then total surrender. Can you actually do it?" Not knowing what's in front of you, not knowing what's ahead of you. And I prayed about it. Still wrestled, right? To be very transparent with you guys. And then I decided I'm going to meet the potential clients for dinner. And at the dinner place, depending on my mood, about me. Um, and towards the end, I just told him, "No, I'm not going to go ahead." Um, and you know, he reminded me when Jesus was tempted by my sin and he said, "I'm going to show you the riches of the world." Um, and Jesus said, "No, and and he resisted um temptations to come." Right? So, I kid you not, I I was in a Japanese um dinner place. I had a text from another client, a believer and and he said, "I just signed a contract and this one felt right in my spirit and God match that exact sub." Yeah. So, I just want to share maybe this story can sort of encourage some of us um you know especially as founders or even not as founders but you know in a in a in a senior position we will face temptations and sometimes the deal can look very good but always like the spirit is is there something that
Then I had situations when the next very different but much more peaceful deal were coming just next day and as I think you were mentioning out of nowhere coming back somebody was mentioning today okay tell me one example right for my business for some reason some very senior person on Facebook really really wants to sell my software to all his clients just once And I got number of deals through that not with a 6 month sales cycle but with one week sales cycle … out of nowhere. Absolutely. Just met the guy at his company and actually some of the multi-billion acquisitions of the businesses have were happening exactly the same way. Even non-Christian entrepreneurs very often share that you know there's two answers to why I am successful question. The first answer is honest because I'm planning I got the right strategy with the right team and actually is important indeed but they very often are really really I mean I will I don't want to connect successful rich and all this right together but at least worldly successful people say I'm just lucky that's why I'm so rich right so whatever and you can explain it as a lot I think we have much more I'm a scientist I don't like things luck and all that. I'm trying to build material behind trying to connect them down somewhere. So for me it's very clear God's work and even God's co machine. So I found for myself is ultimately he wants me be with him. He wants me to be saved. So I do a test check whatever I do. Does it bring me closer to him or far? If the answer is far then I can be very smart for you myself that I should keep doing that actually it's definitely not the plan and uh he wouldn't mind you really really suffer because when we suffer it's here but uh that will save us from the ultimate infinite suffer somewhere else right sometimes you have to praise the price
So really, I chased high pay on more people. But I found a strong case.
One of them is prisons ministry. So I go to prisons and share [the gospel]... my partner and me, we actually set up the social enterprise... my desire is really to share God's love with [those who] do not know Him yet... We can bring all these skills and knowledge together and set up something that will help those who are less fortunate.
And Singapore is actually well positioned to be the hub which we set up, you know, missionaries and also programs that can help these people... I realize that [FACILITATOR] is expert in AI. And so today, we can look at how AI can help us to do this better, more efficiently, lower cost, and reach more people.
for many years, I put entrepreneurs or businessmen together to do deals... because of the tariff tension between US, China... and also the Iran war... So in case you know of any SME bosses who needs to borrow loans for their cash flow... And then my China people who come in to take a certain percentage of your... shares.
one thing about me is I like to tell stories... I try to plant some seeds or water to the person. So the person hears the story and then finally it comes to the gospel... of course I let other people harvest, I don't do the harvesting, I just do the planting of seeds.
We focus on ministry on people who are broken... mentally or emotionally... So we leave all the good people to the churches. I mean, that's how the pastor take care of people who are normal... But I think that's where the needs are... entrepreneurs [are] five times more likely to have ADHD, depression; in that sense entrepreneurs is a normal group too.
on a typical day, 9.30 in the morning, 12.30 in the afternoon, I stayed glued to the screen... and it was getting a bit too much and I said enough is enough. Okay, maybe less money [but] the life should be peaceful.
I wanted to build a community outside the church, I am a Catholic, Christian Catholic, I go to the OLPS, [Our Lady of] Perpetual [Succour], I have a good community over there, but then I decided I should have something beyond that, that's the reason I came.
when I was in [the] bank, I saw Jesus... my team always saw me because before the meeting, I would pray. Because it's very tough working there, I'm very very stressed, super stressed... So I never get [scolded]. Even the job is very very tough. But I saw Jesus, every prayer works.
no matter how good you are, it's not about the capabilities, it's about how you play the politics and how you [please the] boss... Then COVID came, oh my God, we collapsed our whole entire business... So right now, no choice for my business close down on the second year of COVID... unfortunately, go back to the marketplace... [then] learn AI.
My goal is to position with the new company. So my company we do [fund] raising, we have to record for IPO and we have to extend the business.
as I was going down, right, I hear a voice. I really hear a voice... Second, I hear the [voice] again... On the third, [voice] is here, I decide I give it to the [voice]. I went up and I said, are you Brother Hunt? He recognised me. And then from there they all will reconcile... I thought that the Lord lead me just to reconcile with Brother Hunt, but it's not a thing.
Dr. Hunt, Brother Hunt had someone to tell me how to die... it was the Lord who helped me out to regain my vision... So after Brother Hunt prayed for me... the [Lord] wants to give you a blessing... most probably a [healing]... the third week of July, 2024, when Dr. Han-Cheng was shocked and surprised, the cancer got all gone.
I think testimonial is very important... maybe you can record the whole testimonial and just post it in our group... I am in between two worlds here because for one side when you're on FDE we encourage to get every story to be not [F022] as in three minutes. But from another point of view yours is just so interesting.
it's not my plan, you know, this company is not myself... it's got a lot of God-given inspiration that they set this company up to fulfill the divine... it's the five-[fold] ministry, the end time to prepare for that... Some powerful sisters and brothers joined... They call by the [Lord] to join our company... now we're also doing humanitarian... from Pakistan, from Tibet, from Uganda, from Kenya.
I used to work for my brother, a Christian... he told me something. I know [you're] a pastor. Don't bring [your] pastor thing into my office... So apparently the Christian value of the kingdom value doesn't transform into workplace... By the end... I just do whatever I feel is right and I've got an opportunity... pray for them.
The whole book of Deuteronomy is about applying Kingdom principle in every aspect of your life. It's not about the church... if you are... business owner, you can turn the workplace into a Kingdom community... we are told... your kingdom come, not your kingdom like over [sic]... as an entrepreneur, you really have the privilege. Because no one can stop you from doing what is right. But if you don't do it right, then the business is just another money making machine.
In the corporate organization, once you are good at doing certain things... you are already protected... So it becomes too comfortable. And every month, you look at a paycheck, you just relax, go holiday every year. This is a problem... a lot of people do not know how much this entrepreneur suffered... they do not understand [the] suffering. That's the reason why more than 70 to 80% of the people still prefer a salary.
I think that the greatest thing that this two years that [God] blessed me is not about success, it's about seeing all the problems. That's where the discomfort that I want to share with everybody.
I think I like in the video where he shared about it was like a wilderness... and then the way he... hired for, not for skills but he hired for character, so he was like bringing godly values into his company and that was part of his ministry rather than his previous ministry.
He was praying once for wealth again. He told me, I heard from God very clearly, you are not going to get wealth because that's not really your personality. So you're going to get others to be blessed, you're going to pray for others to be blessed. And those people will bring your wealth.
There is a plan, the plan for often really is not exactly what you are planning or what you are building. And you could change the way, you could choose to fight... the longer you will not feel peace... you just obey what [God has] told him... So we all have to obey, and we have to be very sensitive to what actually God tells us.
I know in Asia, we actually cannot fail, right? And we also cannot be weak, correct?... Can we be actually weak and can we actually fail in Asia?... It's a bit provocative question. I know the answer... how could the FDE, and generally the way we live, transform that stereotype so that we actually can trust in God and we could be weak and we could fail.
I quite often [am] super vulnerable in front of my employees. And in all means it's shooting in my own leg. And quite often they use it later against me. But I feel this is how we should do it. Because that's what Christians do, right?... I'm super open and say sorry to my employees, for the partners... people sometimes ask me why you do this... And I say oh man that's an opportunity, because I'm Christian.
I also had the issue, like, he had it in childhood, right? So, there was some family members of mine, and [they] keep drinking all the time, that affected me a lot.
everybody thinks that to be a leader you must be the smartest, you must be the strongest, or it's actually not true. A leader must be authentic, they must be vulnerable because to achieve something is not the [work] of one person. It is a team. And never forget God.
he was thinking of giving up... but somehow he got a feeling that God was telling him, do not quit, because when [you] quit, the next time you face a challenge, you will also quit... it wasn't him, God wanted him to win... So we don't have to be the [strongest]... To be a leader, we have some humility. The members of the team is you, God, God['s] Word.
We in [FDE] would like to say that God is the CEO. We are CEO of all or one of the roles of action. I hope to execute his plan.
if there are no cars coming, we have nothing to do. So nothing to do then. I talk to my colleagues. So many of them are not Christians... Many of them are Malays... So it's a captured market... So I would tell them the story of... Noah's story.
who is Noah? They don't know. So all of them don't know. Because they are Muslim... they never hear who's Moses, who don't know who's Moses, Abraham... So I cannot go deeper because they are Muslim... I can't [preach]. I [can] tell a story... hopefully they are harvested by other people.
Some of my data science, my CTOs... everybody is an AI agent... But, you know, people have a very special place... So we as leaders, we have responsibility... sometimes it's scary getting Asian, especially around a Christian. Bring this Christian thing to you, don't bring it to my company.
It's [Suntec], right? So Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, the whole [605] is opened... some worship songs are playing... I'm a marketer, right? I feel it's a lead magnet isn't it? So... let's meet in a co-working space... I bring all my partners, all my employees, and I'm bringing customers there. Today I brought somebody from UPS... you get somebody staying in church, [with] the worship music playing around them for an hour or two and maybe they will come back or maybe they will bump into pastors.
But I'm a business owner, so if I'm going to shoot in my leg, that would be my decision, my responsibility... I found in Asia, even you're Christian people, you don't talk about it. So you have to push it through... Ah, we were kicked out from Block 71 because we were running FD[E]s there... Religions cannot.
I think when I was in corporate, I was very upfront to say that I'm a Christian. So I think sometimes it's a good and bad thing, I guess... those that are not of the same faith, I think I find a way to also influence or encourage them to see another side of Christianity [and] God.
I had a couple friends around me, I never knew they were Christian. So that was before I came to my faith. But they always had something different about them... they're so quiet and they have that discernment... They do good work and they don't flaunt about it... once I realized that... all of those people... were Christian, it was such a great realization. And it made me really wanna be curious about it... and be the same.
When you know people are not Christians in your organization, there's such an opportunity, right? I feel very exciting too. To talk to new people coming in with the company.
